New Thing: I’m going to post one ridiculous PR pitch per week
And they’re all real.
We’ll start with this beautiful piece of prose:
STORY: Could Holographic Tupac Rap for Retail?
While the concept of augmented reality was initially popular a few decades ago, when Obi-Wan Kenobi appeared as a hologram in the Star Wars films, the topic has made a comeback in mainstream media in recent months.
Rumors of Google Glasses, futuristic spectacles with phone, GPS, calendar and camera features, have recently brought the augmented reality topic back to life. Another use of augmented reality that has been a viral online sensation this week is “holographic Tupac.” Late rapper Tupac Shakur appeared as a hologram to perform at the 2012 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last weekend, and video footage of the performance already has millions of views.
With the recent popularity of augmented reality, retailers can seize this opportunity to engage in multichannel commerce to enhance the shopping experience. This can include installing multichannel commerce software, enabling stores with internet and creating virtual show rooms.
XXXXXXXX, director of product strategy at XXXXXXX is available to speak about the impact of augmented reality on commerce. Are you interested in setting up an interview with XXXXXX?
Best,
XXXXXX
